Granfondo La Fausto Coppi Officine Mattio

La Fausto Coppi Ste e Luca

On Sunday, June 27th, the OM.CC Team took part in the Granfondo La Fausto Coppi-Officine Mattio.

La Fausto Coppi is not only a competition that gathers riders from all over the world, but it is mainly an occasion to share: share the love for cycling, share every single effort – because who rode the Fauniera climb knows how hard it is -, share the laughs and tears of joy of those who got to the finish line.

Almost all the members of the Team challenged themselves by riding either the Granfondo or the Mediofondo, and all of them completed it.

The Granfondo (177 km, 4125 M+) La Fausto Coppi is one of the hardest in the racing season: four climbs with an average slope of 8%, reaching peaks of 14%.

The Mediofondo (111 km, 2510 M+) is not easier than the Granfondo, it is just shorter: you still need to face the Fauniera climb.

The Fauniera climb is a pristine place and offers a majestic landscape. Riding up the Fauniera is kind of a “mission impossible” for many cyclists. It is a never-ending climb that really does challenge you. Nevertheless, at the top of the climb you will feel that every effort, every moment of discouragements were totally worth it!

We achieved four big victories at La Fausto Coppi:
– 1st place at the Granfondo (general ranking): Luca Vergallito
– 1st place at the Granfondo (EWS category): Samantha Arnaudo (16th place -general ranking)
– 1st place at the Mediofondo (EWS category): Silvia Visaggi

And last, the best victory was for us to have almost all of the OM.CC Team riders taking part in this event and to spend a whole day together!
